In addition to our committee and our wider activist base, the MDA also has four full-time members of staff. Their roles and responsibilities are outlined below:
CTI Project Worker
The Community Transformation Initiative Project Worker is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the CTI’s three interlinking strands. These are community engagement and organising, education and skills, economic development and training.
Among their other responsibilities are
- To refine and implement the MDA’s CTI Project
- Organise a community consultation and liaise with the MDA’s Community Development and Community Regeneration Officers to ensure that this is carried out in conjunction with the forthcoming Market Regeneration Plan update process.
- To work with Women, ex-prisoners, youth and the disengaged to help build their capacity and to give them a positive outlet for their energies.
- To develop educational and skills programmes for the area, particularly for the aforementioned groups.
- To deliver employability programmes in the area and help foster the development of community businesses
- To work on any other projects as directed by the MDA as and when necessary.

Regeneration Officer
The Regeneration Officer is responsible for the initiation, development and management of physical and environmental regeneration projects in throughout Market area. The Regeneration Officer’s responsibilities include coordinating the delivery of technical and specialist support for projects. The Regeneration Officers responsibilities also include:
- To seek and acquire funding for various stages of regeneration projects through initiation to completion
- To liaise with community, statutory and elected representatives, as well as private stakeholders, in order to maximise regeneration activity; and to communicate regeneration plans and projects to appropriate audiences
- To keep up to date with wider strategic regeneration activity and projects and to ensure linkages with other proposed schemes and programmes in Inner South Belfast and across the city of Belfast
- To develop and undertake monitoring of resources and activity and to provide regular reports to the Management Committee and other appropriate funding bodies
- To perform such tasks and duties assigned to the post in accordance with specified time and quality targets

Community Development Officer
The Community Development Officer helps to develop and implement a wide variety of community projects in conjunction with local residents and groups. Among their responsibilities are:
- To create and improve opportunities for local residents
- To develop use of local community facilities in collaboration with local providers
- To organise and facilitate programmes for relevant groups
- To work in partnership with local agencies to help develop local community infrastructure
- To work in partnership with local agencies to ensure residents have access to the best possible services
- To promote and encourage greater community involvement
- To promote and encourage volunteering
- To further enhance existing relationships and build positive inter and intra-community relationships
- To secure funding for community resources, projects and programmes
- To attend inter-agency meetings and partnership meetings

Neighbourhood Renewal Co-ordinator
The Neighbourhood Renewal Area Coordinator provides secretarial and organisational support to the Inner South Belfast Neighbourhood Partnership. Their responsibilities include:
- Engage with relevant organisations to identify and develop new service delivery models/projects which will deliver the priorities and outcomes identified in the Neighbourhood Action Plan
- Engage with all relevant statutory bodies and non-Government funding bodies to lever in additional funding to deliver on priorities identified within the Neighbourhood Action Plan
- Produce an agreed communications plan which will be reviewed on a regular basis by the Neighbourhood Partnership to ensure it is fit for purpose
- Liaise with and provide input to the Department in the production and publication of an annual report of activities undertaken and outcomes achieved by the NRP in April of each year
- Meet with ISBNP Chair and DfC representatives quarterly to review activities undertaken and report on progress towards achievement of key targets and outcomes
- Provide secretariat, logistical and statistical support to the Chairperson, the Partnership, and its sub-groups and follow-up on action points
- Facilitate at least 6 NRP meetings and related sub group/working group meetings per year and issue minutes of same at least 5 working days to NRP in advance of next scheduled meeting or within 10 days after each Partnership meeting.
